The story may sound vaguely familiar – “with few label options for a young DJ/producer, he releases a bootleg album. The album draws rave reviews in magazines and on websites all over the world, becoming an instant underground classic.” No, this isn’t the story of Danger Mouse; this is the story of Morgan Page – who, in 2006, released a compilation comprised of bootleg remixes of the likes of Coldplay, Imogen Heap, and Davie Bowie aptly titled, Cease and Desist.

What followed instead were not cease and desist letters but a slew of legitimate remix work by numerous major labels and a record deal from Nettwerk Music Group. Not a bad turn of events for a guy who produced his first track at age 14 while growing up in a log cabin in Vermont.

Fast-forward to the present and we find Morgan Page quickly becoming one the most sought after Remix Producers. Following a string of chart-topping remixes for marquee artists (Katy Perry, Angie Stone Stevie Nicks, The B-52s and more) Morgan was recently tapped by Madonna to remix her single, Miles Away.

Add to that, Morgan released in early 2008, his new album on Nettwerk Records, Elevate, which featured the break-out single, “The Longest Road.” Coincidentally, the song also features another Icon Graduate, Lissie, who co-wrote and lent her vocals on the club favorite single. The song has been supported by many of the world’s top DJs and has been licensed onto compilations by Ministry of Sound, Godskitchen, and Ultra Records.

Currently residing in LA, Morgan is putting the finishing touches on his follow-up album and balancing his studio time with a relentless tour schedule which has included dates with Junkie XL, Moby, The Crystal Method, Paul Van Dyk, and Delerium.

As an Advisor for Icon Collective, Morgan recently visited with our collective of production students; sharing his insights on technology, the creative process, his struggles for validation and his success as an Electronic artist in today’s industry. Morgan Page is an important member of Icon Collective and will continue to advise and influence our students and curriculum thru quarterly visits and exclusive seminars and discussions.
