Ryan Origin

Ryan Origin is an electronic musician, engineer, and professional instructor. He obtained his Audio Technology Diploma at SAE Los Angeles, and before finishing his studies was running their Electronic Music Production program and instructing in a multitude of subjects. Since 2001, Ryan has created original music and film scores with a diverse list of artists, including George Clinton, Jerome Dillon (Nine Inch Nails), Photek, Bad Company UK, Gridlok, LA Riots, and Villains, among many others. His most recent single with Gridlok ("Snap the Whip" on CIA recordings) topped the Beatport

and Juno drum & bass charts, and was chosen by d&b legend Goldie as one of his top 10 tracks for the year. His love for futuristic, bleeding-edge beats from techno to dubstep is a perfect match for thefree-form expressiveness of Ableton 8, and he has been sequencing with the program extensively since version 5. Ryan feels a personal responsibility to help people make better electronic music, and he is very excited to do so as an Ableton Certified Trainer. His expertise includes instruction in sound design, synthesis, sampling, arrangement, MIDI technology, and related subjects.

Currently, Ryan is teaching Ableton Live at Icon Collective, a music production school in downtown Los Angeles specializing in electronic and laptop-based music generation. He is available for private and group instruction in the western United States.

Morris Hayes

Morris Hayes is a keyboardist, song writer, producer and visual artist (drawing and painting). Morris has worked or performed with: Prince, Maceo Parker & The MPB, Larry Graham, Mazarati, Chaka Khan, Elton John, Babyface, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Shelia E., Carlos Santana, Lenny Kravitz, Smokie Norful, Fred Wesley, George Clinton & P. Funk, George Benson, Doug E. Fresh, Cee Lo, Me'Shell Ndegéocello, Mint Condition, Will i am, Candy Dulfer, Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Natalie Cole, Mike Philips, Ann Nesby, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Tramaine Hawkins, Maroon 5, Questlove, Frank McCombs, Najee, Philip Bailey, Floetry, Sheryl Crow, Gwen Stefani, Angie Stone, D'Angelo, Common, Erykah Badu, Bono and

the Edge, Macy Grey, Debra Cox, Eve, Ani Di Franco, Bill Banfield, Shanice, and many others.

Morris Hayes performed with Prince at the 2007 Pepsi Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show. The 12-minute performance featured Prince accompanied by two dancers he calls “the Twins” and the Florida A&M University marching band, the Marching 100. He played before 74,512 fans at Dolphin Stadium (who had been given flashlights to point at the stage during the performance of Purple Rain). The event was carried “to the biggest audience of his life - 140 million television viewers.” Overall, the show was energetic and quite well-received by the rain-soaked audience surrounding the stage. Music critics have been extremely enthusiastic about his performance, one calling it "arguably the best halftime show in Super Bowl history," and others saying it was one of the best ever. The event marked the first time that a Microsoft Windows based keyboard workstation, the NeKo was played live at the Super Bowl. The NeKo keyboard played by Morris Hayes, was later auctioned by the Make-A-Wish foundation. The Halftime show has been nominated for two Emmys: ‘Outstanding Special Class Program and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Special. The Emmy's will air Sunday, September 16, 2007.

Brian Matrix

Brian Matrix is a Producer, Remixer and DJ based out of Los Angeles. Influenced by many genres of music and the art of DJing since a child, Brian Matrix has been playing huge

dance venues since the young age of 16. Having shared the stage with acts like Black Eyed Peas, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Dan, Felli Fel, and some of the most legendary names in the business, his love of making people dance inspired Brian to learn the production aspect of electronic music. Under the tutelage of

David Alexander of Learn2produce.com, Brian has honed his skills over the years and has created 100"s of remixes and original tracks which have charted on top of the Beatport charts. Brain is also one third of the Indie/Electro group RAW MASTERMINDS, with an LP slated for release in early 2011. As an instructor for Icon Collective, Brian continues to advise, educate and inspire the next generation of producers and artists, bringing his talents, resources and production skills to the collective. He also regularly creates opportunities for students to DJ and open shows for some of the best venues in Los Angeles.
